FIND YOUR BEST SELF women's group 2019

who is it for:
For women who have been injured by a sex addict or infidelity and who want to recover in a safe environment with a small closed team of woman.
For those who have been injured by sex addiction or infidelity, the resultant Aloneness, Shame, Betrayal, the Why, and sometimes the sense of being a Fool can burn down your life as you know it. This group will help heal this Trauma through a loving, caring, and transformative team approach. You will discover that your being present just as you are with your teammates- and they to you- are the seeds of transformation in the Find Your Best Self process.
Trauma healing will occur through outdoor team activities, specialized assessments, discussions and group exercises indoors.

time comittment:

5 months

GEAR requirements:
  • An great attitude

  • FBYS notebook (provided)

  • Notebook and pen

  • Any assigned homework

  • Rucksack or a day backpack capable of holding 15 pounds of gear

  • Over-the-ankle boots or lightweight hikers (must be over the ankle) and make sure they are broken in

  • 2 pairs of wool socks

  • Long black pants, no all cotton material

  • 2 white t-shirts (one that will fit over layers) with your first name neatly stenciled on the front. Do not use a pure cotton top. Use a fabric that dries fast

  • Layers for cold weather outdoor activities: base layer, insulation layer, wind and wet protection layer, including hat and gloves

  • Change of clothes for indoor portion

  • Head lamp and spare batteries

  • Energy gels, snacks, bars

  • Quart or liter bottle filled with water or energy drink.

  • Small pocketknife

  • Compass

physical requirements:

Participants need not be in super shape but should work toward these suggested goals before the first meeting. These goals are not mandatory but your effort toward them will make your outdoor team activities much more pleasant.

  • Hike with 10 lbs in a rucksack for 45 min.

  • 5 push ups (on knees if cannot do a strict push-up) VIEW DEMO

  • 25 consecutive air squats. VIEW DEMO

  • 20 consecutive sit ups. VIEW DEMO
